Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Great value for money! We stayed at their chalet which was pretty cosy. Arnor the owner was very friendly, showing us the facilities and gave useful tips for travelling. They have jacuzzi and sauna at extra cost, we used both facilities and it was very relaxing enjoying the jacuzzi while watching the snow falling. Breakfast was included and they were nice. Check out was smooth. Highly recommended.

Likte veldig godt felleskjøkkenet, de hadde alt man trengte av utstyr og hadde flere vasker og kjøleskap. Veldig deilig med gratis kaffi :) Det var sømløst og enkelt å komme seg inn på rommene med koden man fikk tilsendt. Det var god tilgjengelighet på dusj og toalett. Veldig god opplevelse. Jeg likte også veldig godt at man kunne lese om byggets og områdets historie ved å scanne qr kode.

The place is full of history which makes it very special. The rooms are small but cosy. We had a beautiful view on the Fjord. It was our favorite hotel during our 10 days trip to Iceland.

Iceland in the winter is, in a word, an experience. Accommodations and amenities are limited due to it being the "off-season" While breakfast was not included, Sigrid was able to arrange something in the town which was amazing. We also had a storm come over night and she helped with making sure that we could get out and was also concerned that we would make it over the pass. We messaged back and forth to let her know that all was good. I cannot speak more highly of her kindness, hospitality, and caring nature.
