Featuring northern Germany’s best-preserved medieval centre, Lübeck justifies its UNESCO World Heritage listing. The river surrounding the old town links it to the historically important trade route of the Baltic Sea. For this reason it was capital of the Hanseatic League of merchant guilds for over 500 years.
Warehouses from that time still line the waterfront and are now shops, restaurants and bars. Their step gables, and the Gothic spires that dominate them, are best viewed from boat trips around the island. The tallest spires belong to 14th-century St Mary’s Church, similar in style to the cathedral of the same era.
However, Lübeck’s icon is the Holstentor, the most impressive remaining city gate which sits on a separate island by a park. This is the first thing most visitors see after arriving at the train station from Lübeck Airport.
The road through the gate leads to a cobbled square housing the porticoed town hall and part of the annual Christmas markets. Other stalls are in Koberg square, overlooked by Saint Jakobi Church and the medieval Holy Spirit Hospital. Nearby are shops selling the famous Niederegger marzipan founded here, and the former houses of Willy Brandt, Günter Grass and Thomas Mann.
The Lübeck accommodation on Booking.com includes hotels, apartments and guest houses, most with parking.

Lübeck has a lot to see and do.
Lübeck has a lot to see and do. It has been beautifully restored after the damage in the second world war. The churches and the medieval hospital are well worth visiting, as are the Grass, Mann and Brandt exhibitions.

Lubeck seems to have miraculously survived world war 2 having plenty of very interesting buildings to look at. I found it very pleasant for a stroll around especially in the evening. There are plenty of high class clothing shops there and the eating opportunities look good. It is only a short bus or train ride to Travemunde which seems to be a magnet for locals and tourists.

Loved the vibe in Lubeck - plenty to see and do.
Loved the vibe in Lubeck - plenty to see and do. People seemed friendly and I just wish we could have stayed longer. We travelled to a few cities in this part of Germany over the course of the week, finishing in Hamburg, and Lubeck is the one I always look back on fondly.
Excellent location, within easy walking distance of the Altstadt as well as the Hauptbahnhof and the Flixbus station. We requested (and received) a room facing the backyard; it was quiet and peaceful despite the hotel's location in the city center. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. We recommend this hotel strongly and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
This is a hidden gem and a beautifully restored old townhouse that dates back to 1790. It is within walking distance of the historical areas and a quiet, peaceful place when you are returning from a busy day of sightseeing. Monica and Nina are so attentive to every need and, even at breakfast, remembered our preferences from the day before. Anyone traveling to Lubeck should consider this their destination hotel!
The hotel had a great location for a day of sightseeing in Lubeck. All the city sites were within walking distance. We were able to get up in the morning, and quickly find a place at which to eat breakfast. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We needed a place that could fit five people to sleep in for one night before taking the ferry to Denmark, and that is what this hotel provided.
This house is amazing! It was clean and very well-maintained, with a warm and cozy atmosphere even in colder months. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the fridge is big, it is offering a feeling of home. The Internet is fast and all the furniture and equipment are well-maintained and work perfectly. I definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting the area of Lubeck.
The hotel is on a nice location, just across the main train station. It is on walking distance to the Lübeck city centre. The hotel staff were very friendly and gave us useful informations about the city. We loved to play table football in the lobby. Breakfast had good choice of food. Overall, very nice experience. For recommendation!
Small historical building in the downtown. Very nice, clean, a tangible "genius loci". Ideal location if you want to explore Lübeck. Helpful staff, good breakfast. Paid parking ca. 200m from the hotel. We would recommend that you discuss where your room is exactly located as there are three floors and not any lift in the hotel.
Nice but basic hotel right in the center of the city. It is close to all main attractions in the city. Breakfast is good with homemade products. It was expensive for what they offer...but it is in the city center! You can park the car close to the hotel in public parking place. Rooms are clean
-Nice big room
-Very good breakfast that you had in Kaiserhof hotel. (just 2 minutes to walk from Kaiserhof gasthouse)
-Very friendly staff that offered something to drink while I waited for the room to get ready.
-About 10-15 minute walk to city centre of Lübeck.
-Free parking just outside.

Everything was very nice with this hotel, the staff is very friendly, the room was amazing big, clean, comfortable and very silent. I would definitely go again when I visit Lübeck. I even received some suggestions on what to visit!
Hotel is very well located, close to the center of Lübeck with a nice view over the river and with a few restaurants close by. The facilities are well kept and the building is very charming.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, we travel with our dog and it was great to stay at a pet friendly place.
The breakfast at the hotel was also very good.
Basic apartment on a quiet street in Lübeck. Accommodations are simple but clean and check in/check out was easy with a lock box. Fine for a one night stay.
