The Civil War museum was really good, and the white House of the South was interesting. Went around the state Capital Building and joined a tour - big group and hence a little slow. We walked between places which worked for us.
We used our car to see some of the site around Richmond.
Well worth a visit.

The location was ideal having visited for the first time.
The location was ideal having visited for the first time. The close proximity to food stores compensated for the limited breakfast options.
I was accommodated for an early check in at no additional cost and truly appreciated that. I did not get the room originally booked but understood perfectly.
I will stay there another time.

The beauty of Richmond, I traveled when it was very green and the forests were in full bloom. The wedding location that I attended for my friends ceremony was magnificient. Richmond was easy to walk around on foot, full of little stores and places to eat. I used uber when I needed to with zero hassle. I personally loved the dog friendly areas and parks/ wide open spaces.

Customer service at the hotel was terrible Was built twice on my credit card for the same room. Tried to discuss the problem with the manager of the hotel, but he said he was too busy busy and transferred me to someone else. This is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in would not recommend it.

We were only there for a day and went to a couple of museums but there's so much to see. We needed more time to cover more places. The history of this city is incredible. We highly recommend a visit if you're any type of history lover.
the Staff were absolutely excellent. especially the lady at front desk who worked evenings. I think until 11 pm. as well as the housekeeping ind breakfast staff. just very helpful and kind!!! The only downfalls was the pool being worked on as it was something we really looked forward to and the locations excellent IF YOU HAVE a car which I did not for 2 days so was stuck in room. luckily the mattress was VERY a comfortable. otherwise I think it’s the staff I had interaction with that was the best part of hotel!
First time to Richmond and the area right around the hotel is a mixed bag. Some decent looking areas and sketchy areas just a few blocks away. Didn't look very safe to walk around at night but luckily the hotel itself has everything you need.
Definitely fashioned for the younger crowd, there's a cool bar and lounge area in the lobby with a pool table (crooked sticks with cue tip missing), couple of video games (joystick doesn't work), and shuffleboard. Covered outdoor seating along the street.
We had a spacious room with comfortable beds. It was quiet for sleeping. It was great to be able to get up and go and help ourselves to breakfast.
The breakfast included hot food like eggs, sausage, waffles and toast, and also cold options such as cereal, yoghurt and fruit.
There is ample parking some of it in the shade.
The price was affordable and good value compared to other hotels we were considering.
Great location: a block away from the Fan district and a nice walk to interesting restaurants and our concert venue downtown. The apartment was comfortable and a great value. Note that it faces Broad Street, and the light sleeper may have difficulty with street noise in the front bedroom unless they wear ear plugs. Park on side streets in the neighborhood to the east.
Everything was great. The hotel with its property around is absolutely beautiful! The bed is comfortable and the room & bathroom are very clean. It's not located in the center city but one can reach downtown Richmond with a short drive. Price-wise, it's definitely a great value and I wouldn't hesitate to choose to stay there again if I revisit Richmond.
I love the location of the Commonwealth! It's within walking distance of lots of great restaurants and sights on downtown Richmond. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, giving us lots of tips of places to go and history of the hotel. The room was very spacious and incredibly clean! I can't wait to stay here again!
The place to stay in downtown Richmond, especially if on your way to someplace else. Park, walk across the street to a great restaurant , walk back, sleep and wake up refreshed to continue your journey.
- Good, central (but not busy) location.
- very clean.
- comfortable bed and nice big room.
- cool, old (but renovated) house.
- the best: a caring and friendly Host!
Loved it!
