The hotel is relatively close to the train station. Good directions were given in advance to walk to the hotel. Breakfast was very good. It mostly consisted of croissants and cakes, but adequate meat and cheese were also available. The staff was very nice. On our last morning, it started to rain as we were leaving for the train station and we were very kindly offered a ride so we wouldn't get wet.

Perugia’s Old Town still houses several hotels and restaurants that are centuries old.
The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to several important institutions, such as the renowned local university, the University for Foreigners, and other institutes. The International Journalism Festival, the Umbria Jazz, and the Eurochocolate Festival are major annual activities. I really enjoyed the Art Museum and shopping experience.
I really enjoyed the Art Museum and shopping experience. I also had a couple of fabulous meals and enjoyed a relaxing time in the piazza with fresh squeezed orange juice. I walked around a lot and experienced the public market on Saturday. I would have enjoyed more than my 1.5 day stay, but it was enough to give me a feel for the place. l

It is a wonderful historic city.
It is a wonderful historic city. Although it is perched on high ground it is very accessible through public escalators in various parts of the city and with a minimetro from the Perugia station right up to the top at a very small price. Very convenient.

Nice , quaint city, the best was not having many tourists like nearby Assisi. many good restaurants to choose from (old city). being perched on a top of a hill , you need to be prepared to walk/climb quite a bit (but worth the effort)

Historic town with many historic buildings.
Historic town with many historic buildings. Easy to travel by mini metro and rail to Assisi. A shuttle bus operates to take visitors up to the old town. Lots of eating facilities and many restaurants. We used Perugia as a base from which we could visit Assisi.

A very picturesque, historical old town with plenty of cafes and restaurants; Uphill climb into the town centre is massively helped by the open air escalators and elevators; driving in the ZTL (very narrow streets) and parking in the centre is an issue (no possibility to book a parking space in advance) - but it may have been due to the increased inflow of tourists during the Umbria Jazz Festival

Perugia is not only a great city in itself but also a great...
Perugia is not only a great city in itself but also a great base to explore the wonders of Umbria and even Tuscany. We had a week there and spent three days in the city itself sight seeing and shopping - highlights included the amazing new gallery, practically empty, the amazing Nobile Collegio del Cambio frescoed by Perugino, the medieval aquaduct that you can walk along and of course the Perugina chocolate factory (reached by Bus A from the Bus or train station if you don't have a car.) We also went on day trips to Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and Spoleto by bus or train. I will be back as there were many other places that I would like to visit and Perugia makes a convenient hub. We also always found welcoming restaurants to eat in the evening and even got quite a few new clothes.
The location of the hotel was really good as it was near everything you needed to see when visiting Perugia. The staff was really helpful and kind at all times. One of the receptionists stayed late for us to keep our luggage, till our flight, inside the hotel, offered us tea or coffee before leaving and also gave us a little souvenir as a gift from Perugia. The rooms were clean and comfortable although a little small.
Overall we had the best time and we recommend it to everyone staying in Perugia.
The hotel was really beautiful and the room very clean. There was a large parking space free of charge. The breakfast was wonderful with really quality products and of course, with many types of chocolates. The breakfast got even better when a very friendly person from the staff, Eriona, brought us an italian coffee and grated chocolate on it instead of sugar. It was the best coffee ever. On my next trip to Perugia, I will definitely book this hotel again.
Free parking in front of the building. Super friendly and helpful hosts/owners. The breakfast was better than most italian type breakfasts. We got elaborate recommendations for their favorite restauarants and bars. It was no problem to leave our luggage and the car at the hotel the next day after checking out, so we could explore Perugia a bit more.
Thank you so much, hopefully we can return soon and stay a bit longer!
We had a superior room with aircon and balcony. As it was v hot in Perugia when we went, the aircon made it bearable at nights. The location was great - near all the sights. We arrived by train but then hired a car and could park nearby with a hotel permit. The staff were great. They were all very helpful (English speaking) and friendly even when we managed to break the blinds which they fixed immediately !
The room was large. We had a lovely view of the city. This is the perfect location to visit the centro storico. We had a car which made it a good location without having to worry about the restricted zone. They also offered reasonable parking. The breakfast buffet was very nice with many choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is our second time at the hotel and I would highly recommend it if going to Perugia.
Great hotel!!!
The castle is gorgeous. You literally feel like living back in the middle age. Our room was in the tower, first level: amazing view and great interior. Also nice walking around in the garden and in the little swimming pool area.
The hotel is also very well located for daily visits to places such as Assisi and Gubbio
If you stay few nights in Perugia, this hotel is a must ******!
Location was great. It was very easy to walk around the old part of the city with many shops and restaurants nearby. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. We went for the Giro d'Italia and the hotel was just half a block from the race course. We arrived in Perugia by train and took a bus to a stop just a block or so from the hotel. The people who run the hotel are very nice.
Location very central and convenient, a quick walk to the center of town and/or the stairway down to the bus station. a/c much better than usual with a nice balcony with a lovely view. Restaurant served the best meal we ate in Italy - very unusual for a hotel restaurant - with way above average service and good value.
Great walkable location.
We were disappointed we had to pay 30 Euros to park which increased the cost of our stay.
Breakfast was wonderful!
Room clean , staff very nice.
Would recommend you don’t try to drive a car here. It’s on the ZTL zone as you approach hotel, very confusing!
small hotel, family run, they were always on hand to help. No air conditioning (exceedingly rare in Italy), but the owner found me a fan for the room. Large rooms with very high ceilings, in an excellent location just steps from the main piazza. Very ample breakfast.
A terrific hotel, outstandingly run. Convenient to Perugia access from down hill parking lot, and still with great town location. Exceptionally clean with modern conveniences and excellent linens. Great views. Wonderful host - great communication.
Breakfast was great! A lot of options and a lot of space between the tables. We arrived late so we didn't use the pool but the view from the terrace was excellent. We walked downtown to have diner to find one of the best atmosphere in Italy.
Room and bathroom were quite spacious and felt very clean! Staff was also super nice and kind. The hotel is located ~15-20min from Perugia and 25-30 min from Assisi, so a nice option if you’re planning to visit the main cities in Umbria.
If you want to stay within the ztl, this hotel is a great option! It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot but the escalators made it easier with bags. It's also only about 10 euros for a taxi to the parking lot.
Breakfast was good and the shuttle bus provided to take me to the festival I was attending. The staff were also all very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to those visiting Perugia.
Everything was welcoming and comfortable.
It’s was the best stay in Italy yet! Perfect location, clean, well thought out in decor and aesthetics. Such a lovely stay! Thank you!
Nice location, close to Perugia (by car), with free parking space and the room was spacious. It seems like an expensive hotel of the past, but it is beginning to show its age.
