I can find nothing negative to say about Melk.

I can find nothing negative to say about Melk. We totally enjoyed our stay and all of the attractions that were easily accessible. We eat at local restaurants and the food was excellent. The train station was within walking distance. The river cruise to Krems was amazing. I would do it all again.

The Abbey is extraordinary and the surroundings are wonderful. The city is a whole story, full of a preserved history with great attention to detail. Very professional. Was easy to get around, no problems. We think to plan another trip to Melk in the near future.

Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour. We also enjoyed the old downtown and all the sites and stores. We were there during the Christmas holiday break so some stores and restaurants were closed but that did no deter us. Would like to visit in the spring and summer.

Melk is a lovely touristic town, little shops, tiny streets, spectacular monestary and views. The area of Wachau has so much to offer and explore, I loved it and I will definitely return in a different season. The church is the centre of Melk is extremely welcoming, beautiful and joyful. Strongly recommended!

We only had to spend a Friday night in Melk but once arrived (although pretty late), we got out to take a walk. We were impressed by the tranquility of the old town's city center and had a very nice dinner at Venezzia Restaurant (if you don't have to, don't go to the bathroom there :)). We'll be back to visit the Abbey!

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see.

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see. The town is very pretty and a great place to wander around for an hour or two. There were some nice restaurants and bars, but many places were closed for the season (January). You can see the abbey and town in an afternoon, but there are other places in the surrounding countryside if you stay longer.

Breakfast was delicious and lots of choices. The location is really delightful and I had dinner on the front terrace looking up to the Abbey on the hill above the town. Quite magical. The restaurant is quite popular and they recommend booking which I did. Staff are helpful and efficient. a short walk to the train station with my luggage, just a bit of uphill going from the hotel back to the station. The Abbey is outstanding and requires time to explore both inside and the garden.

Cute place to stay, altho the room is very small, it was comfy. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Bikes could be stored safely, very easy to find. The cafe has a good menu and a wonderful covered terrace so you can sit outside even if it’s raining. A short walk to the Abbey, which is a must do. We did not do a tour, I don’t care for museums, but the Library and Chapel were stunning

Very beautiful apartment, modern design, with the view of the church in the middle of old town, very close to all the restaurants and the Abbey. Sparkly clean, new furniture, great design, it had two bathrooms which it was a surprise. Very well equipped kitchen. The point of contact for the apartment was very helpful and answered all our questions. We will book there again.

Everything. The beds were comfy. It was easy to find and the location is just great. The view is spectacular- it’s underneath the Abby. It is in the middle of the town “Melk” which is a calm and quiet aesthetic place. The hotel was clean and historical. We would have loved to stay even longer! Ps: the warm shower and new facilities were huge impacts on the stay.

The staff was really nice. The hotel is comfortable and in the main square of Melk. The breakfast was amazing, lot of different options, omelette or eggs on demand, good cheese and meats. I only missed some sparkling wine and the coffee quality was so and so. The room was big and clean. I would have liked to have cotton swabs.

Friendly staff, excellent location, good breakfast, best value for money in Melk, decent parking - I was notified of the correct address for the parking, since it is in the back of the hotel, on a different street - something most hotels don't bother doing.

Lovely place a little further from Melk, so do not expect a restaurant nearby, you will have to get in the car for that. The rooms were great, and the garden beautiful, and I had the best apricot and strawberry jams in my life. Good value.
